I was surprised when I first saw a large, round mochi wrapped in shiso leaves.
Shiso mochi is a local dish from the southern part of Fukushima Prefecture.
It is an event food eaten in the summer, and is freshly pounded mochi wrapped in fresh shiso leaves.
A midsummer rice cake with a refreshing scent of shiso that whets the appetite.
