INGREDIENTS: 2 servings
- 3 ponkan oranges (360g/13oz)
- 3g powder gelatin
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP
Preparation
- Sprinkle the powdered gelatin into 2 tablespoons of water and let it soak.
STEP
Squeeze the juice
- Cut off the top third of the ponkan and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Save the 2 ponkan skins for the jelly cup.
- Remove the thin skin and seeds from the ponkan flesh, strain it in a coarse-mesh strainer and squeeze the juice.
STEP
Add gelatin and chill
- Put 180ml of ponkan juice in a pot and heat it over medium heat. When small bubbles form, remove from the heat before it boils.
Add gelatin soaked in water and dissolve. Pour into a ponkan cup and chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
NOTES
- If you add water to the powdered gelatin, it tends to become uneven, so sprinkle the powdered gelatin into the water.
- You can make it with tangerines or oranges as well. If the fruit juice has a sour taste, add the desired amount of sugar to dissolve when warming the juice.
