Perfect for BBQ | How to make Grilled Rice Balls – soy sauce taste-

The fragrant soy sauce and sesame whet your appetite, and the crispy surface and soft inside make for an exquisite grilled rice ball.
Great for breakfast and lunch, as well as outdoor activities such as BBQs.
I used Yamabun soy sauce, which is characterized by its mellow sweetness and deep umami, but you can make the same with soy sauce at home, so please try it!

INGREDIENTS: small 4 onigiri

  • 340g cooked rice (1 cup of cooked rice)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp roasted sesame (white)
  • 1/2 tbsp sesame oil

Sauce   

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp mirin (sweet sake)

Make rice balls
  • Add the cooked rice, soy sauce, and roasted sesame to a bowl and mix. Make 4 rice balls.
STEP
Grill rice balls
  • Put the sauce ingredients in another bowl and mix.
  • Add sesame oil to a frying pan over medium heat, place the rice balls and brown both sides.
  • Reduce the heat to low, spread the sauce on both sides of the rice balls, and cook both sides quickly (be careful as it burns easily).
