Homemade Dried Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are delicious just by steaming them slowly, but the concentrated umami and sweetness of dried sweet potatoes is exceptional.
Recently, store-bought dried sweet potatoes have become more sophisticated and expensive, so I made dried sweet potatoes in the oven.
It will last for about 5 days in the refrigerator, so it’s convenient when you’re hungry or on a busy morning.

  • 2 sweet potatoes

INSTRUCTIONS for Dried Sweet Potatoes

STEP
Steam sweet potatoes
  • Wash the sweet potatoes and place them in a steamer with the skin on. 
  • Heat the steamer over high heat, and once steam starts to come out, reduce the heat to medium-low and steam for about 40 minutes.
  • While the sweet potato is still hot, cut off both ends and peel.
  • Once cooled, cut lengthwise into 1cm thick pieces and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. 
STEP
Bake in an oven
  • Heat it in an oven at 100℃ (210℉, No preheat) for 1 hour, then turn over and heat for another 1 hour.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let it cool.
PRESERVATION

・Can be stored in the refrigerator for 5 days or in the freezer for 1 month.
